Purushottam Adhik Maas 2026: Krishna, The Source of Everything

During this sacred Purushottam Maas, we are presenting a special 5-part series on Chapter 15 of Bhagavad Gita, Purushottam Yoga. In this part, we will understand verses 12-15.

Krishna’s Energies

After explaining the journey of the soul, Lord Krishna now reveals how He is constantly present within and around us, maintaining all of creation at every moment.

Krishna explains that the light of the sun, the cooling brightness of the moon, and the power of fire all come from Him. The sun nourishes and sustains life, the moon helps nourish vegetation, and even the fire of digestion within our body works by Krishna’s arrangement. In this way, Krishna reminds us that we are completely dependent on Him, even for the most basic activities of life.

These verses also show us a very practical way to remember Krishna in everyday life. When we see sunlight, eat food, look at the moon, or even digest a meal, we can remember that all these energies are coming from Krishna. Spiritual life is therefore not separate from daily life, it is about learning to see Krishna’s presence everywhere.

The Supersoul

Krishna further explains that He is situated within everyone’s heart as the Paramatma, the Supersoul. From within, He gives remembrance, knowledge, and even forgetfulness. Through all circumstances, Krishna continues guiding every living being.

Purpose of the Vedas

These verses also explain the real purpose of the Vedas and spiritual knowledge. Krishna clearly says that all Vedic knowledge ultimately points towards Him. The purpose of studying scriptures is not merely ritualistic practice, intellectual discussion, or temporary material benefits, but understanding our eternal relationship with Krishna. The ultimate conclusion of all knowledge is to know, remember, and reconnect with the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

When we begin seeing Krishna’s presence both within and around us, spiritual life no longer remains just a philosophy, it becomes a living reality that gradually brings us closer to Him makes our lives perfect.
